Thanks to Katie Shimmer “and company” for all their hard work in preparation for this year’s PROM! A huge shout out goes to Michelle Ashenfelter and Cheryl Storms for their tireless work in preparing the Mr. North Pageant (held Saturday, April 26th). IT WAS WONDERFUL! . . . Michelle Ashenfelter created every certificate for the night. All the Math teachers gave up their Tuesday lunches to meet and plan the event. They all motivated students to come and share projects, get their awards, and get excited about math. Every administrator showed up and supported this effort. Miho Hosaka and her Catering Crew created some amazing food. It not only tasted good, but fit in with our entire Super Pi Math Theme. Lastly, June Blackwell and her crew that brought us more chairs and helped us clean our mess. Thanks to all. It was a NEHS Group effort! These students were role models in improving their effort and attitude towards math. Other students will be honored at the Math Awards Night on Wednesday, April 23. This from Kelly Mcghehey: “For those of you who missed A Midsummer Night's Dream this weekend...kick yourself! I took my 6 year-old-daughter to it and even she laughed quite a lot and sat still MOST of the time. Fred's cast did a stellar job of performing this classic. I was infinitely impressed with 15-18 year olds’ abilities to memorize lines and lines of Shakespeare and deliver it very well. Congratulations to Fred and all that helped make this a very enjoyable event. Keep up the great work!!! I forgot to mention one of the most important parts of the play...that Brandon Lasher and Erika Wolf were stellar actors in the play as well. I think it is so cool for our students to get to work alongside staff members to bring a production to fruition. Hats off to Brandon and Erika...there were both outstanding!” Kudos to Matt Chapman for bringing Rep. Nancy Nathanson, Rep. Chris Edwards and Mayor Kitty Piercy to speak in his government classes.
