How do I become an NEHS student?
Our feeder schools are Kelly, daVinci, and Madison Middle Schools. If you do not live in the North area, you can go to the 4J District web site to find out about "School Choice," a program that allows students from outside of the neighborhood to attend the school of their choice.
Can I ride the bus to school? Where do I park my car? What about parking for athletic events and performances?
North Eugene uses LTD for bus service. You can ride free with a student body card. Click here to go to the TRANSPORTATION page.
Any high school student under 18 years of age who wants to get their drivers permit or license, must submit a form verifying that they are currently enrolled in school. Students can obtain this certification from the Records Office at NEHS. The Registrar needs a MINIMUM of one-day's notice to process the enrollment form.
I don't understand how the small schools fit in. Can you tell me more?
Several smaller learning academies are used to help students gain the advantage
of being part of a more intimate school group:
• North International High School
• The School of IDEAS
• Academy of Arts at North Eugene
Although most of a student's day in spent within their small school, some courses are available to all students including band, theater, metal and wood shops, athletic programs, and more.

I want to transfer from one of the small schools at NEHS to a different one. What do I need to do?
In order for students to be placed into a small school outside of their lottery assignment, he/she must notify the Small Schools Coordinator, Cassandra Kamens, of the desire to transfer by completing the "Small School Intent to Change Form." The student will then be placed on a waiting list. Once space is available, the student will be contacted and directed to fill out additional paperwork. The transfer process must be authorized by administrators of both schools and may also involve conferences with the student, parents, and teachers.
How does the cafeteria work?
Lunches can be purchased individually or in advance. Checks should be made out to 4J Food Service or you can pay online. Menus are available online at www.sodexhoeducation.com. If you are interested in applying for reduced-price meals. Please call the Main Office at 687-3261.
I have questions about the dress code, campus hours, cell phone policy,

Is there a school nurse?
District 4J operates a school-based health center at North Eugene High School. The center is staffed with a school nurse, health clerk, a nurse practitioner, and a mental health therapist. The nurse practitioner can prescribe and treat acute and chronic illness. Physicals and immunizations are also available, as are mental health services from mental health therapists. Do I have to try out to be on an athletic team?
It depends on the team. Baseball-yes. Swimming-no. Click here to go to the ATHLETICS page and see a list of all the teams and coaches.

Do you teach Driver's Ed classes?
4J teams with the Oregon Driver Training Institute to teach Driver's Education. These programs are available year round, with classes starting in September, January, April, June, July and August.
