Highlanders!!

We have made it to the final week for Seniors. We are so excited for our upcoming ceremony on June 7, 2025 at Swede Johnson Stadium. Final week for the rest of our Highlanders will be the following week, ending with a Half Day C Day on June 13. We are coming down to the wire here! Students should be emptying lockers and saying their final goodbyes before the summer. As always, get in touch with the front office if you have any questions.

We want to invite you to attend a parent/guest night to watch your student deliver their speech before an authentic audience. For our speech project, our authentic audience is YOU!  Lookout for a letter in your inbox!

Senior Stroll - June 5


Are you sad because you only get to wear your cool cap and gown only once?  

Are you feeling nostalgic?  

Do you want to inspire future graduates with your awesome accomplishments? 

On Thurs. June 5th we will continue our tradition with our Senior Stroll, day after the Award Ceremony, & you have received all your SWAG.

We would like you to wear your cap and gown.

We will load buses and head to Awbrey Park, Howard, Spring Creek, YG or River Road Elementary schools (you get to choose which one you would like to visit) to stroll through the halls, say hi to teachers and inspire the kids with your awesome accomplishments. 

What You Need to Do……..

  • Wear your cap and gown on Thursday June 5th….
  • Under 18 Must have Signed Permission Slip, GRAB ONE FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE & Return There
  • Over 18, NO Permission Slip Needed

RTEC 101 - Gateway to College and Careers 

Hello Seniors, 


If you are planning on attending Lane Community College in the fall  (or even thinking about it as a possibility)  please seriously consider taking this summer course offered by LCC. 


"RTEC 101 - Gateway to College and Careers" is an awesome prep course to help all incoming college-bound students prepare for all that Lane has to offer. It is a free (yep! you read that right) class that is exclusively for graduating HS students.  This class is all about preparing you with all the necessary tools and resources you need to become a successful student at Lane.


What is RTEC 101? - You're about to embark on an entirely new experience at Lane with new information, new rules, and more freedom. Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you know what degrees and resources Lane offers?
  • Do you know how to transfer to a 4-year university?
  • Where to look up scholarships and financial aid info?
  • Do you feel ready? 

If you said "no" to any of the questions, then RTEC 101 is here to help you!


Summer Class Schedule - In-person - 6 weeks

Dates:  Aug 5-Sept 9 - every Tuesday 
Time: 10:00-12:00 first two weeks.  10:00-11:30 last four weeks

Eugene Rowing Club Learn-to-Row Summer Camps
Looking for a fun and active way to get on the water this summer? Eugene Rowing Club offers week-long Learn-to-Row camps for rising 6th–12th graders with no experience necessary. Camps run MondayFriday, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM at Dexter Lake, and are the perfect introduction to the sport of rowing—taught by experienced coaches in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Amy Samson Memorial date has been set for 6/9

Memorial Gathering for Amy Samson

We want to share with our North Eugene community that the family of Amy Samson has planned a memorial to honor and remember her life. Amy was tragically lost in a car accident last year, and their impact continues to be deeply felt by students, staff, families, and friends.

The memorial will take place:
Monday, June 9th
4:00–6:00 PM
Mt. Pisgah Arboretum

All are welcome to attend and join the family in celebrating Amy’s memory.

Please note: Mt. Pisgah charges $5 per car for parking.

Upstart Crow Youth Theatre has opportunities for teens this summer!
Volunteer Opportunities:
Spring: Do you love being part of the backstage team? Looking for ways to earn volunteer hours for grad requirements? Just want to be part of the fun? Volunteer for UCYT's production of Junie B's Essential Survival Guide to School JR! Tech week volunteer opportunities available for 6/2-6/5 and performance volunteer opportunities for 6/6-6/8 and 6/13-6/15! If interested, fill out the interest form in our Linktree!
Summer: We are seeking self-motivated teens who are enthusiastic about volunteering with kids entering grades 1-6 in a summer-camp environment! UCYT offers camps for youth entering grades 1-8. The UCYT Summer Camp Teen Volunteer Program is open to students ages 16-18. Teen volunteers serve as “counselor’s assistants.” Volunteers gain experience in principles of basic child development, positive behavior management techniques, communication and leadership skills.

Volunteering at UCYT is a great way to:
● Earn volunteer hours for high school graduation requirements
● Gain valuable work and leadership experience
● Learn essential skills you can use in youth camps or after school programs ● Stand out on scholarship and college applications
