Hello Highlander Families,
Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend—don’t forget to spring forward and set your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night. The longer days and extra sunshine are a welcome sign that spring is on its way.
Next week also kicks off state testing for our juniors, so we appreciate your support in helping students arrive rested and ready to do their best.
Across campus, spring is already bringing a lot of energy. Spring sports are underway, activities and events are filling the calendar, and students are getting involved in all kinds of great things happening at North.
With Spring Break just around the corner, it’s a good time to stay on-track and finish strong over the next couple of weeks.

Oregon State Testing Coming Soon for Juniors next week!
Oregon State Testing (OSAS) for 11th Grade StudentsNorth Eugene 11th grade students will be participating in the Oregon Statewide Assessments (OSAS) over the next several weeks. These statewide tests help teachers and schools understand how students are doing academically and where we can continue to grow and improve.
There are also benefits for students. Strong scores on these assessments can sometimes allow students to skip college placement tests and even some entry-level college classes—no matter when they begin college, even if they take a gap year.
The results also help North Eugene teachers better understand our students’ strengths and areas for growth, and provide a broader snapshot of student learning for our community.

First come, first served — see you there, Highlanders! 🛒A Small Request from North Eugene
As cold and flu season continues, classrooms across campus are going through supplies quickly. In past years, items like tissues, hand sanitizer, and masks were easy to keep stocked, but with tighter budgets it has become more challenging.
If your family happens to have extra supplies at home and is able to help, we would greatly appreciate donations of facial tissues, hand sanitizer, or disposable masks for classrooms.
Items can be dropped off at the front office, and we’ll make sure they get to classrooms that need them.
Thank you for supporting our students and staff and helping keep our Highlander community healthy!

The North Eugene Hall of Fame 💫
A (slightly late!) but very heartfelt thank you to our Booster Club and the staff who showed up to support our very first Hall of Fame event on Saturday.
What an incredible night — and over $60,000 raised for our students. Just wow.
Beyond the fundraising success, the most powerful part of the evening was hearing the stories of our inductees. Their journeys were a reminder of the lasting impact North Eugene has on generations of students and families.
This work is not always easy. Some days are heavy. But nights like this remind us why we do it.
This is a special place. And we’re lucky to be part of it. See Pictures
North Eugene families may find these local community resources helpful for staying informed and connected.
Eugene Police Department – MyPDConnect

EPD offers an online reporting tool called MyPDConnect, which allows community members to report certain non-emergency incidents online, including theft, vandalism, fraud, identity theft, or anonymous tips. Reports can be submitted from a mobile device, and you can also upload photos or videos to support your report.
Using online reporting helps reduce call wait times and allows officers to focus on emergency calls.
Reporting Community Concerns

The City of Eugene also provides an online reporting option for concerns such as illegal camping, hazards in public spaces, or other neighborhood issues.
River Avenue Navigation Center – Community Feedback
The River Avenue Navigation Center is inviting neighbors to connect, ask questions, and share feedback about their work in the community. Families can submit anonymous feedback or access updates through the QR code and contact information on the attached flyer.
These flyers include QR codes and links to access each resource.
As always, if an emergency or crime is in progress, please call 911.

Neurodiversity Support for Families
Our community partners have shared two upcoming gatherings focused on supporting the well-being of children and youth. These events are led by two dedicated professionals who have made it their life’s work to help families, educators, coaches, and anyone working with young people navigate the challenges youth face today.
These sessions are designed to be informative, supportive, and practical for anyone who cares for or works with youth—whether at home, in school, or in the community.
One of the presenters, Wendy Nims, has also provided a short form for participants to complete ahead of time. This helps ensure the presentation and discussion address the real questions and situations people are currently experiencing with young people.
