Hello Highlander Families,
We hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend and found a little time to rest and recharge 💛
This week at North, we’re excited for the opening of our theater production of Fiddler on the Roof, while our IB students continue powering through the remainder of their IB exams — we’re proud of all the hard work happening across campus.
Students should have completed their forecasting during advisory last week (we made it through! 😅), and now we head into another busy stretch of spring activities and events. Senior Checkout begins next week during lunch.
Be sure to check the calendar below for everything coming up at North — and don’t forget to scroll all the way to the bottom for community partner events and opportunities, including the Booster Club Spring Elections on May 26. 💛

NEHS Theater is excited to announce the opening of Fiddler on the Roof, running May 14th through the 23rd.
Fiddler on the Roof centers around Tevye, a Jewish milkman living in the village of Anatevka, Ukraine, in 1905. The story revolves around Tevye's efforts to maintain his religious and cultural traditions amidst encroaching outside influences, which he sees as "Tradition" being like a fiddler on a roof, trying to stay balanced. The challenges to tradition are particularly highlighted by the choices of his three oldest daughters. Don't miss this emotional classic!
This production comes courtesy of Musical Theatre International of New York.

IB testing runs May 4–May 13 — we’re wishing all of our IB students focus, confidence, and success as they show what they know 💪
📅 Be sure to check the public calendar for specific dates and times
You’ve got this, Highlanders! 💛

Dear Students, Parents, and Faculty,
Our talented artists have submitted beautiful multi-media pet portraits that now brighten the walls of the Veterinary Hospital across the street—a community clinic that has cared for animals and
their families for more than four decades.
We are thrilled to invite you to visit the Veterinary Hospital to see the North Eugene High School Pet Portrait Exhibition where students share the love they feel for their pets through this special art
exhibition. Your drawings, paintings, or mixed‑media pieces will be displayed at the Veterinary Hospital, giving the clinic’s visitors a glimpse of the creativity and compassion that lives in our school
community.
Student’s artwork brightens a place where people come for their pet’s comfort and care. Imagine a visitor’s smile when they see North Eugene High School student artist’s portrait of a wagging tail or a cat curled up in a sunny spot. Art student’s pet portrait art spreads joy, raises awareness about responsible pet ownership, and shows how much our animal friends mean to us.
A heartfelt thank‑you to Blick’s Art Supplies
This spring’s exhibition would not have been possible without the generous support of Blick Gives Back. Blick contributed a $497.56 grant of brushes and water‑colors, which our artists used to create the vibrant mixed‑media pieces featured in the show. Their commitment to arts education helps our students share the love they feel for their pets with the broader community.

We wanted to share two community resources with our Highlander families:
🚓 The Eugene Police Department’s MyPDConnect system allows community members to report certain non-emergency concerns online, including theft, vandalism, fraud/scams, illegal camping concerns, and more. The system is mobile-friendly, available in multiple languages, and allows users to upload photos/videos and track reports.
🏡 The River Ave Navigation Center is also looking to connect with neighbors by gathering feedback, sharing updates and outcomes, and creating opportunities for community engagement. Families can scan the QR code on the flyer to submit anonymous feedback or learn more through their website and newsletter.
Please see the flyers below for additional details and contact information.
