Hello NEHS Families! ❤️💛
We’re heading into week three, and things are starting to find their rhythm! We had a great time at our first assembly, students are settling into schedules, counselors are catching up on requests, clubs are getting underway, and fall sports are in full swing.
Next up: NORTH FEST! 🎉 We’re excited to welcome families and our community to campus on September 25.
There’s a lot happening at North — be sure to check the calendar for all the dates, games, events, and details. Have a great week, Highlanders!

On Friday, September 25, we’re opening our doors to the entire North community — students, families, alumni, retirees, neighbors, future Highlanders and anyone who wants to come see what’s happening at North.
- Tour the school + meet teachers
- Connect with community organizations
- Get info for freshmen, seniors, SPED & 504 families
- Grab dinner from a food truck
- Face painting + lawn games
- Check out clubs & affinity groups
- Then stay for Friday Night Lights!
This is more than an Open House. North Fest is about bringing our whole community together.
Come for what you need. Stay for what sounds fun. Bring the family. Bring a neighbor. Bring a future Highlander.
Come meet our staff, explore clubs and affinity groups, connect with community partners, enjoy food trucks and tailgating, and stay for the football game.

We have received reports that some families may not have received our previous parking information, so we are sharing these expectations again.
All students who drive to school must have a valid NEHS parking permit to park on campus.
We also ask families to please follow all posted traffic and parking regulations during arrival and dismissal:
- Do not park, stop, or wait in designated Fire Lanes.

Do not idle or wait along curbs that are not designated for student pick-up. This includes not waiting in the bike lanes on Silver Lane.
- Please use designated parking and pick-up areas and follow posted signage at all times.
- When using the drop off lane, please pull as far forward in the lane as you can before dropping off. If the lane in front of your vehicle is open after your student exits, pull as far forward as you can before merging back into the traffic lane.
These expectations are in place to keep emergency access routes clear, traffic moving, and our students, staff, and families safe.
Thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal at North Eugene safe and accessible for everyone.

Please give the Front Office 15–20 minutes’ notice whenever possible if you're calling your student home early or out of class for an appointment.
Calling ahead gives us time to locate your student, contact their classroom, and get them headed to the office. Walking in and asking us to pull a student immediately can mean a wait — especially during passing periods, lunch, PE, or when a class is somewhere other than its usual room. Thank you for your understanding <3.

North Eugene High School will offer an opt-in PSAT/SAT testing opportunity on Friday, October 23, 2026 for eligible 11th- and 12th-grade students.
Who Is Testing?
11th Grade → PSAT/NMSQT
12th Grade → SAT
The PSAT and SAT can help students prepare for college and career opportunities, identify academic strengths, and connect with scholarships and other postsecondary resources.
Important for 11th-Grade Students
The PSAT/NMSQT is the only qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program, which provides opportunities for academic recognition and scholarships. Students generally participate in the National Merit competition by taking the PSAT/NMSQT during their junior year.
ALL STUDENTS WHO WANT TO TEST MUST SIGN UP IN ADVANCE
Testing is optional, and students will not be automatically registered based on grade level.
Every student who wants to take the PSAT/NMSQT or SAT on October 23 must complete the North Eugene registration form before test day.

Students with an IEP or 504 Plan may be eligible for College Board-approved testing accommodations.
College Board accommodations are separate from school-based IEP or 504 accommodations and must be requested and approved through College Board.
If your student needs accommodations:

Important: Please DO NOT send the consent form directly to College Board. The North Eugene school team will use the completed consent form to support the College Board accommodations request process. Because accommodations require processing and approval, please return the form as soon as possible.

If your student is a junior or senior this year, they should be in at least one IB course. Starting in October, students can register to take external exams in May of this year in order to possibly earn some college credit. Stay tuned for more info about registration.
For those who don't know already, a "passing" score on an IB assessment is a 4 (out of a scale of 1-7), and is comprised of both external and internal assessments. Scores of 4 automatically earn students college credit at all Oregon public universities and community colleges, as well as many out of state and private schools around the world.

The Booster Club will be running concessions at all home Varsity Football games. Adult volunteers are needed for each game starting around 6 pm. Grab a friend and sign up!
