High School Graduations Do's and Don'ts

Posted Date: 6/04/24 (3:54 PM)

Highlander Senior Families,

First off, congratulations on your soon-to-be senior student's graduation. What a great accomplishment this is, and I wanted to personally extend my congratulations to you and your student. It has been an absolute honor and privilege for me to be your students principal.

The purpose of this email is to clearly communicate graduation exceptions with senior students and families. This is a graduation ceremony and a celebration. We want to honor the fact that these students have endured significant disruption in their education (COVID) and that this graduation is not only representative of their long hard work, but also of the privilege we have in being able to gather for this occasion.

Please make sure you take time to clearly articulate graduation expectations with your student.

Expectations:

-Senior students are allowed to decorate or design their mortar boards (graduation caps)

-The decoration or design must be positive and school appropriate

-The decorations must be 2 dimensional, no 3D aspects allowed

-No beach balls

-No silly string

-No flags

-The decorations or design on the mortar boards should bring joy to the occasion

Thank you all again for your support. We want to make sure that this graduation is a positive one for all of our families and students.

Lastly, I want to congratulate you all again on such a joyous moment again.

Go Highlanders!
